Rain and consequential flooding has damaged some of the progress we made at Burden Pond preserve.

What you are looking at is flooding inside the Burden Pond Preserve. Some of this flooding is expected from seasonal rainfall, but the last storm lead to many of the trails being inundated with floodwaters from the creek.

Some of our work has been set back (washed away in the waters).

What we want people to know is, we plan to rebuild and keep updating the trails. This upcoming #NYSecondSaturday we will have volunteers repairing the damaged trails while welcoming new volunteers. We hope to see you there.

It has been a crazy year, but we are fully committed to completing and updating the Narrows: Cascades & Heritage Trail that was started in 2018 (?, or sooner). What we need are volunteers. Little or small, young and old, experience or not… it matters not! What matters is, you care and you are there!
